I was very amazed and I wish someday I could ride one and have nice shots from above.

For those of you who wanted to experience the hot air balloon festival, you can still have it next year. It's always held February every year when the weather is very good. There are also things that you need to be reminded of.
1. Wake up early. You should at least be in the area by 5:00am the latest to have a good spot for viewing and to avoid the long wait in line.
2. You have the option to buy ticket in advance.
3. Bring "banig", chair or blanket that you can sit on while waiting.
4. Park near the exit.
5. Saturday schedule has good number of balloons but volume of people, Sunday and Weekdays has I believe fewer balloons but lesser people. Depends on your preference.
6. There are portalets available almost everywhere but of course, you can't expect more.
7. There are food stand also available.

Once again, a very cheap international ticket prices was offered last November 2009 were we get our round-trip ticket to Kuala Lumpur for only Php600. We haven't actually planned too much of this because this is only a short travel for us. We scheduled our trip on July18-21. We left Manila at 9:30am and back to Manila from KL at 1:30am making it a stressful one at least for me. hehe! Here's our entire travel itinerary with actual spending that you can refer to when you plan to go there: Make sure you have your Malaysia Ringgit ready before leaving Manila as the money changer in Kuala Lumpur opens at around 8am. Est Php 14 to RM 1

Kuala Lumpur Sentral

 4:00am-4:15am - travel from KL sentral to Bukit Bintang via taxi (RM 25 / 3 person = RM 8.33). Taxis ask for fixed price during this time so make sure to not go beyond RM25.
4:15am-7:30am - breakfast (KFC's breakfast meal of sausage, scrambled egg, hash brown and coffee for RM5.50). We opt not book for a hotel room at this time because we will be charged of half-day price. We will only be staying awake for few more hours before Monorail opens.
TOTAL = RM 47.83 / Php 693.53

Genting Highlands/Petronas Tower at Night
7:30am-8:00am - ride Monorail from Bukit Bintang Station to Titiwangsa station (RM2.10)
8:00am-9:00am - ride Genting bus going to Genting highlands (RM 6.6). Cable car still under renovation.
9:00am-4:00pm - go around Genting. We bought Outdoor ticket to spend the day off (RM 38). This package does not include there signature rides. You have to pay separately for those.
We had our full meal lunch inside and spent RM 13 each which includes shake, noodles, vegetable, rice, chicken.
4:00pm-5:00pm - back to Titiwangsa station via Genting Bus. (RM 6.6). We planned to go to Batu cave but we missed the bus going there so we opt to head back to our hotel and freshen up.
5:00pm-5:30pm - back to Bukit Bintang station (RM 2.10)
5:30pm-7:30pm- check-in at Hotel ambassador (RM 155.00 / 3 person = RM 51.66). Very clean, cheap, and accessible to all means of transportation.
7:30-8:00pm - we walked almost 30minutes going to Petronas tower which is roughly 1.3KM. On the way, we passed through Pavillion mall which is very very much like Greenbelt 5 and Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC)
8:00pm-9:00pm - picture! picture! picture!
9:00pm-10:00pm - dinner (kebab meal and iced jelly for RM 14.00)
back to hotel.

Petronas Skybridge/China Town/Masjid Jamek
Petronas skybridge is open only from Tuesday to Fridays. Admission ticket is free but you have to make sure you go to ticket booth as early as 6am to avail of the limited ticket and avoid staying long in the line. We are already there at 6am sharp were we are already at the 20th of the line, ticket booth opens at 8:30am, first batch can go up by 9am, and can stay for 10-20minutes per batch.
5:45am-6:00am -  taxi again will ask for fixed fee as this time (RM 10)
7:00am-8:00am - breakfast (rice with chicken for RM 4.50). We only bought food in the nearby convenient store.
8:00am-9:30am - go around skybridge.
9:30am-10:30am - back to hotel. (taxi fare RM 6.30 / 3 person = RM 2.10)
10:30am-12:30- rest. rest. rest and check out from Hotel. But you can still leave your things at the reception area if you still would like to travel around KL.
12:30pm-1:30pm - lunch at Nasi Lemak. (chicken, fried squid and rice for RM 9.24)
1:30pm-3:00pm - china town, ride a bus for RM 1. I spent RM 45.00 for my souvenirs
3:00pm-3:30pm - back to hotel to leave the souvenirs.
3:30pm-4:00pm - go to Masjid Jamek, one of the oldest mosques in KL. We just stayed outside to take few pictures. (Monorail RM 2.4)
4:00pm-6:00pm - we walk towards other nearby attraction. I believe that's the municipal hall and embassy.
6:00pm-7:00pm - taxi going back to Hotel. It's raining so hard that we have a very long travel time from Masjid Jamek to Bukit Bintang. (Taxi fare costs us RM 20. whew! RM 8.33/person)
7:00pm-9:00pm - go to KLIA LCCT. We haggle taxi at a fixed rate of RM 60.00 (RM 20 each)
9:00pm-10:00pm - dinner (chicken meal set RM 10.00)
10:00pm-1:30am - waiting time before departure.
TOTAL = RM 112.57 / Php 1632.27
GRAND TOTAL = Php 6947.67

After missing out our first plan of going to Pinatubo on the first week of Feb due to me having fever, we finally have it scheduled even with our tight month-end deadlines. This is just a one-day trip.

2:30am We stayed at bus terminal as early as 2:30am to catch a the earliest trip. You can either ride a bus going to Dagupan or Baguio. We first tried Victory liner going Baguio but there's a long line for chance passenger because its Panagbenga festival. Asked also the earliest trip for Dagupan but still no luck and the next trip will be at 5am. Then we tried Five Star just in front of Victory liner and luckily there are still few seats available and the bus left at around 3am. Fare cost 154
5:00am we arrived at Capas Tarlac (i think they called it Junction, near Mc Donalds and 7-11), ride tricycle near a market which cost 300. This is the regular price; you can still haggle for a lower price. The tricycle can accommodate a maximum of 5 persons only.
6:00am arrived at Sta. Juliana where the registration office is located. We are very lucky to arrive the earliest that day so we are able to choose a nice 4x4 truck without hurrying too much. Upon registration, you have an option to either avail of their package amounting to P2500 or what they called “local"

5:30pm ride bus back to Manila which cost P203.
9:30pm arrived at Ortigas.

This is the season that you shouldn't missed out on going out for a vacation.."Summer", sky is all blue, sea is very calm and the sun is up and shining. This year's summer, we planned to spend it in Coron, another stunning island in Palawan. After the recommendation from friends who have been there, we finally set our hearts. Though i must say that I have exceeded my budget, nonetheless everything is spectacular.

We arranged our vacation on March 16-19. Roundtrip ticket to and from Busuanga is very cheap costing around Php1200 since we got them on sale and its on weekdays. We also booked our accommodation in Coron Village Lodge and booked also a boat for our 2-day Coron Island tour. It's good if you arrange a travel in group of 6, mainly beacause you can share 2 triple room, a small boat with max of 6 person and tricyle that can ride max of 6 person also. :)

Day 1 - Mt. Tapyas and Maquinit Hot Spring
Busuanga airport only has 2 flight schedule in Cebu Pacific. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. We took the earliest flight on March 16 and reached Busuanga Airport around 10:30am.

7:00am - ride taxi going to airport. We are 2 in the cab and it cost P230 from Pasig to NAIA terminal. (P115/person)
8:00am - check-in baggage and go straight to gate. Terminal fee costs P200
8:30am - had breakfast. i spend around P100 for food.
9:30am - flight going to Busuanga
10:30am - reached Busuanga airport. ride a van going to town proper which cost P150. If you are staying in Coron Village Lodge, they will arrange a van transfer which you will also be charged of the same price.
11:00am - check-in Coron Village Lodge. Twin sharing room cost P950/day. Triple sharing cost P1250. But recently they increase their prices but not sure by how much. Cost per person for 3nights of stay, P1425.
12:00pm - lunch time. Since we haven't seen the whole place, we decided to have our lunch in Village Lodge. Their food is very good but quite expensive which ranges from P150.00 and above but if you do not eat big time, it can be shared by 2 persons. Their restaurant is also very cozy specially at night. Our lunch is Calamares with butteres vegetable and 2 cups of rice with total of P190. (P95/person)
3:00pm - since we don't have anything to do as of this time, we decided to buy souvenirs already. we went to souvenir shop outside the Village Lodge and also in Coron Souvenir shop which we rode tricycle to go there. Tricycle cost varies, but usually P8 for minimum travel for adult. Souvenirs in Coron is quite expensice compare to those in Puerto Prinsesa. :-\. I spend
P730 for some keychains and few shirts.
4:00pm - climb Mt. Tapyas. you can start as late as 5pm but you must hurry going up if you want to see the sunset on the peak of the mountain which usually sets around 6pm. We bought some snacks and water with us in going up. Cost - P40
6:00pm - we arrange with one of the tricycle we ride on the way to souvenir shop to transfer us to Maquinit Hot Spring. We haggle the cost of the tricycle down to P200 and gave tip of P20.
6:30pm - reached Maquinit Hot Spring and paid P100 for the entrance fee. Its very good to go there during the night where the breeze is cold. But careful to those who have high blood pressure. :-) It might be dangerous to your health.
8:00pm - back to the lodge and eat dinner at Village cost P255 (P127.5/person)
TOTAL COST - P2946

Day 2 - Coron Island
This tour comprises of islands nearby Coron which are Siete Picados (also called 7 islands), Kayangan Lake, Baracuda Lake, Banol Beach, Skeleton Island and Twin Lagoon.
6:00am - had breakfast at Trining Baksa which is located near the market. This is one of the known karenderya in the town. If you don't want to spend too much to those fancy restaurant, go here. We ate total of P110. (P55/person). You can either ride a tricyle or walk if you're not in a hurry.

7:00am - start buying food and stuffs in the market for coron tour. We bought 1/2 kilo of chicken, spices, charcoal, water, cooked rice, etc. Total spending, P238 (119/person)
7:30am - we ride a boat going to the first island in our itinerary. Boat going to the basic island tour cost us P1500 (325/person). You can still haggle this to a much lower price if you are less than 4 in a group. But of course don't forget the tip. ;-)
8:00am-5:30pm
1st stop - Siete Picados Island which cost P100 if you snorkle. This spot is for snorkeling but unfortunately we have get any chance to see the snorkeling spot because its very windy and the sea is not that calm.
2nd stop - Kayangan Lake. Of all the island in this day, this is my favorite. The water in very clear, there are lots of fishes and it not too hot because the cliff covers most of the water area. But other than that, this island cost the highest of all which cost P200.
3rd stop - Banol Beach. I called it as mini beach as you can walk from one end to another in few minutes. hehe. Cost, P100.
4th stop - Skeleton Island where a wrecked ship is submerged and covered with clams and shells and whatever. Since the parking area (lol) of the boat is too far from the island, we swam almost 10meters just to reach the island even smaller than Banol beach. Be careful, there are urchins here. Cost, P100
5th stop - Twin Lagoon. This is i guess the largest of the lake for the entire day. as the name states there are 2 lakes that are divided by the rocks and you should go underneath the small hole to go to the other side of the lake. Cost, P200
6:30 pm - dinner at Trining Baksa. Afterwhich we also had pizza at Coron Bisto and restaurant. Their pizze esp the "Bistro" is a must try. the medium size cost P299. Total dinner cost P162
TOTAL COST - P1348 (includes tricycle and tips)

Day 3 - Banana and Malcapuya Island
This tour includes 2 far beaches that are travelled by almost 2hours.



6:00am - breakfast. Cost, P90 (P42.5/person)
7:00am - bought food and stuffs for lunch which cost sharing of P130 per person. Pre-arranged boat cost P2500 (tip not included)
8:00am - started sailing.
1st stop - Banana Island. Cost P200. The place is very relaxing. The beach is kind of rocky but there are lots of fishes you can chase under. Here you can cook the food you bought and have lunch.
2nd stop - Malcapuya Island. Cost P150. This place is my favorite of the day. The sand is very white, the water is clear like in Boracay. It also has a long shoreline and a viewing cliff.
6:00pm - be back at the port by this time.
6:30pm - dinner at Kawayanan restaurant. Food and place is good also but price is quite expensive. Food ranges from 150 and above. Cost, P212.50
TOTAL COST - 1442 (including tricyle fee and tips)

Day 4 - Departure
Since you flight schedule is available the latest in the afternoon and also the last day activity will consume your entire day, you really have to leave on the following day either morning or in the afternoon. If you leave early in the morning you have to wake up early to catch the flight but if you want to relax a little bit, take the afternoon flight.

I must say that the entire experience is 2 thumbs up except that i feel like everytime i move i have to pay. lol. i will definitely go back here in the near future..

We planned to have an overnight stay in Lago de Oro located in Calatagan, Batangas. Learned the resort from one of my friend recently went there. I manage to find their website which we avail of their promo, P2100, minimum of 4 person, inclusive of 3 meals, whole day wake boarding and overnight stay in their resort. 50% to be paid initially at their bank account.

Day 1: wakeboarding
04:00am is our call time, early Saturday morning. We had our early breakfast in Mcdonald in Shaw blvd costing us around 50.
04:30am we travel from Shaw going to terminal going to Calatagan at basement of Metropoint mall, Pasay. cost us around P120 for taxi fare (P24/each). ask the driver to pick you up the following day. don't know if this is always possible but just give it a try as van going to Pasay in Calatagan os very seldom
06:00am van depart going to Calatagan, we waited almost 2 hours because the van needs to fill all the seats. fare cost P170.
09:00am arrived at Lago de Oro. Went to reception and paid the 50% balance. Check-in immediately.

12:00pm start lunch.. tip: Lago de Oro has large servings of food so you can share few food stubs on each meal. We have a total of 15 stubs (5 persons x 3 stubs) but we used only 5 stubs for lunch, 3 for dinner, 5 for breakfast and 2 for lunch.

We stayed at Taisan Guesthouse. Very strategic location to stay for first timer. Walking distance from MRT station, bus station and there are many affordable restaurants nearby (KFC, Mc Donald's, authentic Chinese restaurants are also available). I have learned this through Pinoy Exchange, very good source of things to know, places to go, etc in Hongkong.
Make sure you booked the earliest flight going in and latest flight going out.
Buy octupos card to be able to have discounts on MTR and bus fares. You can also have this refunded for a very minimum charge if you're not able to exhaust the whole value.

Most of the budgeted amounts here are over the usual spending in our actual trip.

If you are going to sneak on my friendster account, you will see that i have been through some very good places here in the Philippines like Bohol, Cebu, Laoag, Vigan, Pagudpud, Sagada, Banawe, Baguio, Tagaytay, Puerto Galera, Batangas, Cavite and Laguna. Yes, travelling is one of my favorite hobby. I'm just an average gal here so i can't go anywhere without saving first. I just started this when I already got a job. I still have lots of places I'm planning to go like Palawan, Boracay, Caramoan, Davao, Batanes, Cagayan. But I think it will take time, you know I have to buy a piggybank first. LOL.
Going to some places outside Manila is not that easy. There's more you should do and prepare. Its not just you pack your things and just go. I believe that I am a really good planner when it comes to travelling. I never got lost, I always leave with complete gear and most of all I end up saving from the original budget. Its just sort of long time planning of course. To make it simple here are few general tips in travelling:

Find a place with lower fare rates offer, then that will be the target destination. For me its hard to plan a destination before buying a plane ticket because it will just end you up spending high for the regular rates.

Save 1-2 months planning time if you really want to make most out of the place. But if you are just planning to sit there and realx, I think its no need. You can fly tomorrow if you want. haha.
*
Look for internet sites giving you some tips about the place on where to go and what to see. I can recommend the www.virtualtourist.com. This gives me so much help. You can see some reviews and comment about the place so you can expect something when you get there.
*
Find a place to stay and rent transportation as early as possible so you can still haggle for a lower price. Its easier to negotiate the price when you're still far from the date of your arrival.
*
Prepare itenerary with estimated budget.

Don't forget to prepare the important things on your bag pack like first aid day before the flight. Its fine to forget some nice clothes but never forget stuff that will cost you so much when you buy there.

Take all the photos you can. That's one of the most important thing. Bring extra memory card for your camera. Who knows when you can come back there again.

I went to Seaside at MOA to capture sunset in the afternoon. But I guess I was unfortunate that the sun at that moment was covered with black clouds. Sad. So there is the sudden change of plan. Instead I just stayed for few hours and waited until the street lights finally were switched on.

This is my first time to stayed here at night. So I never thought that its going to be more fun.



I'm very excited to take a shot of this fountain. But there are lots of people also taking picture of it. Better luck next time.
